Ardbeg Distillery History
Ardbegs two closest neighbours are Laphroaig and Lagavulin. Sitting on the south coast of the famous Island of Islay, this distillery produces an exceptional single malt, both in quality and popularity. Ardbeg has been active since 1816 and prides itself on still using completely traditional methods of distilling. To create the famous distinctive flavour of Arbeg the malt used in the production process needs to be a minimum level of 50 p.p.pm phenol.
